Fru-Fru Tank
Find this pattern here at Ravelry.
I wanted a feminine tank top, with two daughters and a son to knit for, and only so much warm weather to enjoy, I needed it to be a quick knit. This is roughly a 2T/3T size, but could easily be used as a dress for an infant. If the straps are too long, you can easily tack them down in the back with a strand of yarn, which you can remove as your daughter grows, or if there is a lot of excess, tie the back straps together to make a >< shape on the back.
Yarn could easily be switched for your favorite worsted weight (or similar guage) yarn. I chose the Caron Simply Soft, because I don't mind it, and it's 1.99 a skein at my local Hobby Lobby, with a good selection of colors.
This is worked from bottom to top. I had company for the final section, so if you have any questions or something doesn't make sense, please drop me a line .

Knit 2 rows
Divide stitches evenly, front and back, placing stitch markers on the sides. There should be 46 stitches for the front, with the beginning of the round in the center.
You are going to work flat, front first, leaving the back alone for the moment.
Decrease:
RS: Slip1, k2tog, knit until 3 stitches, SKP, K1
WS: Purl
RS: Knit
WS: Purl
Work decrease pattern until 38 stitches remain on the front. When you are done decreasing, only do one row of the purl.
Bind-Off Front:
Bind off 6 stitches, place next 3 stitches on a DPN, continue binding off until 9 stitches remain, place next 3 stitches on DPN, continue binding off.
Stitches placed on DPN's are going to be your straps.
Bind-Off Back:
Cast Off and weave in loose ends.
Finishing Straps:
Work one strap until it measures 8". (You can try the garment on your child to see what length of straps would be best fitting for them).
Carefully layout and measure strap placement, mine are roughly an inch over, on the back. Pick up 3 stitches on the back, and Kitchener Stitch the strap to the back.
Repeat for second strap.
Weave in all loose ends, at least 3" if you plan to machine wash the garment. Enjoy!
