jet plane?

Updated 9.25 - I wanted to tell family and friends before posting here and them reading it this way. So its up again. Last night he was offered a position in San Angelo TX. after a bit of research we turned it down. it makes it all that much more real though. I have very mixed feelings, happy, excited, nervous, overwhelmed, sad to leave family and friends. We are having dinner with the regional manager next week (me and J) so will know more than! Realtor coming on Thursday (this time I imagine her son will not break his arm again which stopped the previous set up time).
---
We found out about two hours ago that this position has been filled, so we are moving. Looks like it could be beginning of November, depends if a location we are interested in opens up and we get it. (could take longer depending how picky we are, the state needs to allow homeschooling and that actually limits a few). I had the master list of all locations this morning which I then misplaced without leaving the computer chair.

The amount of junk in our house makes me want to puke and bury my head in the sand ala ostrich style. Seeing as that's never done me any good I suppose I should begin decluttering major instead of the here and there I've done recently. But can't I just wait and enjoy this one weekend... oh how I wanted to veg and do nothing this weekend. We have a fish fry tonight so I need to make a dish for that still, and the day is slipping away though it's only 2:00.

It's exciting though, kids are sad to leave the swing set. Funny how I'm the most attached to that myself. Can't say it won't be a challenge to find a nice place to house a family of six, and allow some pets. Might have to find the dogs a new home, since more places allow cats then dogs... but really there's no cause to worry or be concerned, whatever will be, will be.

weekend never looked so good.

I vow one afternoon to watching Gilmore Girls with Ari (still working on finishing the last season), eating fried green tomatoes, and not leaving my house/yard.

To get that, I have to do a lot of running around today, library books returned and checked out. Pick up the boy I babysit from the bus stop, visit J at work to say bye to the assistant (last day), and I imagine I should stop by Target to get cat food and Ais a new toothbrush cause hers disappeared into the abyss.

First though I really need my kids to get out of the tub so we can get our lessons done. I really should move bath time to the evening.

We wanted to hit the local carnival yesterday but rides didn't start until 3 which didn't work for us. I could go alone with five kids (remember the bus stop and kiddo), but .. . well I just don't think I want to brave those crowds with sugared up kids, running a muck with their wristbands. We did the Chuck E Cheese thing yesterday to make up for their disappointment, and if we live in these parts we are taking Ari back to Mall America for her birthday.

Jeremy's final training is at the end of October, and the contractor is getting quotes to us for fixing some things up. I very well may become that cliche, that once you get your house how you want it... you move. My parents did this twice growing up. I never got it. Always felt we just settled for less until moving gave us the motivation to kick into gear. For us though it was just about the money.

can.not.wait. for heroes to begin.

little boys want to be heroes

at least mine does.

Miss Pickle got a cold last weekend, then mid-week I joined the club. I'm still recovering. I hate when colds settle in the chest. We have a wedding today for my Dad's brother, it's wet, chilly, and gray as can be out. It's out at a lodge so that should be fun. It could be nice seeing everyone on this side of the family. I don't know how they will react to certain things, and then the age old issue.. what to wear.

Jeremy put a bid in on the assistant position at this store. The current assistant took a job out in Nebraska and is moving in a week, so this one is open. They don't like to promote within a location, and he hasn't completed his management training which will be in October out in Colorado (wish I could go with). But it's not unheard of. Whatever will be, will be.

In the meantime we are getting ready for the trip to Tennessee trip for my mom's brother's wedding (lots of uncles getting married this year). We can't be gone too long, but it will be nice to see everyone, meet the new babies, and introduce mine. Most have only met Arianna, so not quite what you'd consider up to date.

Inbetween rain and chill, we get a few humid and hot days. We took advantage of a glorious day earlier this week.

"I promise I won't let go.." Remember that line? Well with this gal you can't, not yet anyway.

She felt very discouraged, and after she kept falling because of her noodle legs (yah no effort to even hold herself standing), we got to the bottom of it (which I've seen with her in her lessons). She thinks everything should be easy! She told me that the first time she tried to snap, she thought she'd just be able to do it with one try. She was actually disappointed when she couldn't snap on the first try. She thought she could just ride a bike, get on and go. Same with reading, and anything else that takes effort to learn. She got back on though after a little talk and was much improved.

We did some tee ball that evening after finding that soccer had been canceled for the remainder of the season (without notice), so we took advantage of the field and had a good time.

Miss Pickle was checking out the grass. She kept putting her face down and sticking her tongue out, then making a weird face.

She's getting so big! She had her appointment a week ago and weighed 12 1/2 pounds and 24" long, she's 75th% for head, weight, height. She's getting in control of those hands now too, it's all about "self" right now. In the mirror she gives herself a second glance instead of just smiling at me, she concentrates so hard on those little fists, and is grabbing toys now when they are on her belly. But most of the time she is grabbing her dress and pulling it up to her chin.

She is our little sweetheart, that's for sure. When she was sick, she' was so miserable, couldn't barely breath, had to keep having her nose sucked (could her day get any worse than that!?!), but even through all that, she kept trying to smile. She'd smile, then cry, then smile, then cry. She wanted to be happy but felt so crappy.

some days I think... wow these are my kids.

strange behavior

Isn't it funny how the sight of food causes (my) kids to morph into little baby birds. I got this with the Ghoul M&M's I bought (too cute!) and more recently the pickle I got out of the fridge. My Dad always said that I had a weird delusion that his soda tasted better than my soda as a kid. I guess it applies to pickles and m&m's too.

Not sure why (kids) feel this method will work. I'm also trying to figure out the whole whine "uggggggghhhh" when they want something. Mine can do this in unison, as if hearing three kids go "uggggggghhhhh" makes me want to buy them something.

laptop in shop

While slightly pathetic, I felt sad leaving my laptop behind at Best Buy this afternoon. My 3 year warranty expires on the 18th of September, so really if something was going to go wrong, now was the opportune time. Here's hoping all is covered. My laptop is how I'm able to come on here and update from time to time, it's how I get homeschool items scheduled.

Sitting at the main computer though in the dining room is just not comfortable and cozy with the half pint. It's 3-5 days for diagnosis. Stinks.

But it's inspired me to come to a new solution of my photo files. I have about 10GB of photos on this main computer, and several GB on disks. Considering a scractched CD means no Christmas memories, birthday memories, or the time Aislyn picked her nose LOL.

So I'm getting an external hard drive, I can get 160GB for $80 or so dollars at Best Buy. Then I can save all my important photo files on that, and anything else that takes my fancy.

I'm excited to clean this main computer off! It's in dire need of some maintenance.

Pizza's done, off to celebrate more for J's birthday with the kids. We just got back from the Star Wars Clone Wars flick, review - "ok" not bad, not great. Seems the DVR needs to block out a time slot for the series due to start October 3rd.

firefox 3 is tripping me out.
